Oh How I Love To Swing

We went out for a walk today and it was overcast when we set out-it did rain on us a little bit, but by the time we got to the park it was clearing up and the sun came out. The higher the swing went the more Brooks liked it. We went down the slide a couple times but he didn't like it was much as the swing.I swear he said  "weeeeee" as he was swinging.

Had to break out his sun hat-why are there never any trees shading the playground equipment?

Shoe Fetish

Is it to early to have a shoe obsession? Brooks loves to play with our shoes. The closet door didn't get shut all the way and sure enough he made his way over, opened the door and proceeded to throw the shoes out of the closet onto the kitchen floor.

I think Brooks was a dog in a past life. He was trying to chew on some of the shoes!

Daddy's Little Helper

Our DVR box stopped working this week (we lost all our recordings!) but we did have another receiver box that we could use so we could at least watch TV! Brooks crawled over to help Brian.

"Good job, Daddy. I think it's working now"

"Oh wait, I think that cable plugs in here"

                                                 "Here, let me show you"

New perch

Brooks is now standing in the window sill. Had to move the plants since reaching in for the dirt was becoming a new fascination. He likes to watch the cars drive by. He makes car noises and points at them as they go by.

A couple days later...He figured out he could actually get up onto the window sill. He was on his knees pounding on the glass!

Hoppy Easter

Playing with the grass from his Easter basket was more fun than what was actually in the basket! Who needs toys when you can just shred some paper?

Playtime

This is one of Brian's $5 garage sale finds. Brooks wasn't too interested in it anymore when it was on the ground so I put the legs back on and voila -it's a brand new toy!

Doing Dishes

Every time I am doing dishes Brooks comes crawling over and tries to climb up my leg because he wants to play in the water. In order to get my dishes done, I put him in his high chair with a bowl and a cup of water. Didn't take long for the water to be dumped all over. Then he saw the colander and he just had to have it! He had fun splashing and playing and I was able to get my dishes done.

After our dishes were done, Brooks went out to the porch to play. I was still in the kitchen and when I didn't hear him for a bit I peeked through the kitchen window to find him getting a drink from my water bottle.

After taking a sip he says "aahhh". One of those things we must have done and not even realized we were doing it and he picked up on it.

We went in for our 1 year baby well visit last week. Brooks weighs 21 pounds and is 30 inches long and well, we have a well baby. Other new things: clapping, waves hello and bye, says bye bye (sounds more like ba ba), he is getting up on his knees and trying to stand, he points to the owl in his books and tries to make a hooting noise. Seems like there is something new everyday but those are some of our new tricks!
